Having a go on a speedway bike is the ultimate experience.
Information regarding Speedway Training Schools
SCUNTHORPE SPEEDWAY
TRAINING TRACK DETAILS Scunthorpe Speedway’s 92-metre mini-track was built inside the stadium grounds in the summer of 2007 and has proven to be an extremely popular addition. Its size makes it ideal for the smaller engined bikes (e.g. 125cc, 250cc) and is an excellent introduction to art of sliding. Already riders have progressed to the British Under-15 championships and the club’s amateur meetings, whilst many other users are fans of all ages, and from all over the country, who want to experience the sport in relative safety. There are a variety of ways to ride the mini-track.
WAYNE CARTER TRAINING SESSIONS From the early days former Scorpions’ Captain Wayne Carter has run regular Saturday afternoon sessions (12-4pm). The sessions, which need to be booked in advance can be arranged by calling Richard (see details below) and are open to riders who need to hire the club’s bikes and those with their own machinery. The price of the sessions is £60 (including tuition, bike use and equipment hire) or £25 for riders with their own bikes. Typically sessions run every fortnight but occasionally a session will be fully booked by a single group. For more details please check out www.scunthorpespeedway.com/mini.php
TRAINING SCHOOL DETAILS The first training sessions at Newport Speedway start from Sunday November 1, 2009 at 11am. The first occasion will be a general practice, but on subsequent dates in the close season there will be an element of graded races.
Contact at the track, including weekdays, is John Mallett on 07968 531 572
