PETERBOROUGH co-promoter Peter Oakes is delighted to see the club handed the Premier League Four Team Tournament in his first year back at the club.
And he's urging Panthers fans more accustomed with Elite League racing to turn out in force and sample the best of the Premier League on Sunday, August 15 (2.15).
Oakes also feels the event, which is the fourth Super 7even event of the year, is going back home after a few seasons away from the East of England Showground.
He said: "It's a great opportunity for Peterborough fans to see the biggest names and talents in the Premier League in a competition that belongs at the East of England Showground.
"Over the years our fans have had some unforgettable afternoons at the Fours finals and they seen their own team win seven times – six of them when the Panthers were in the Second Division – and it's probably the most exciting meeting in the PL calendar.
"It's a great opportunity to see riders they wouldn't normally see and also weigh up the potential of young stars who are certain to make it into the Elite League in the future and perhaps even as far as the Speedway World Cup and the Grand Prix series.
"When you consider Chris Holder and Jason Crump, who finished first and second in the British Grand Prix started their careers in the Premier League you realise how much talent there is at that level."
