DUDLEY Heathens have moved into second place in Speedway's National League after scorching to a 62-32 win over Scunthorpe at Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
Skipper Lee Smart continued his stunning run of form with a perfect 12-points score from four outings in a solid all-round effort for the former Cradley club. Jon Armstrong notched 10+1 and Tom Perry 9+4 in the tricky number three spot.
Pottinger revealed: "The team spirit is excellent and, fair play to Lee, he's busy right now and said he didn't mind if I left him out of Heat 15. That gave me the chance to put Tom (Perry) in for an extra ride.
"It's nice to see a solid scorechart and our recent form is awesome, we are the form team of the National League at the moment.
"I was impressed by Steve Worrall at reserve for Scunthorpe, he got the Monmore track weighed up well but we had all seven riders on form which is very pleasing.
"It's just a shame we don't have another meeting until August 10 when we go to the Isle of Wight."
DUDLEY: Lee Smart 12, Jon Armstrong 10+1, Tom Perry 9+4, Micky Dyer 8+2, Jake Anderson 8+1, Ashley Morris 8+1, Richard Franklin 7+1.
SCUNTHORPE: Steve Worrall 13, Mark Burrows 7, Ashley Birks 4, Gary Irving 3, Gary Beaton 2+1, Scott Richardson 2, Richie Worrall 1+1.
