STOKE boss Malcolm Vasey said a mid-meeting team talk inspired a major Potters recovery to defeat Redcar at Loomer Road.
Vasey's team were eight points down after Heat 8 but hit back to secure all three points from a 50-40 win, with Lee Smart (14+2) and guest Kyle Legault (13) impressive, whilst Lubos Tomicek was involved in a vital last-race 5-1.
Vasey said: "Some harsh words were said, and we went on to stage an incredible fightback and all credit to the lads for doing that.
"That was Lubos's best meeting for Stoke and the likelihood is he will be reserve for us on August 1, and I hope he will continue where our other reserves have left off.
"We'll now turn our attentions to Sheffield a week on Thursday when we will have Claus Vissing back in the team and, who knows, possibly a new face in the side also."
