BELLE Vue gained maximum points from their home clash with Lakeside to remain on the fringe of the play-off places.
The Aces came through 47-37 against the third-placed Hammers in a meeting curtailed one race early due to rain, and are now looking for a major push after the World Cup break to put pressure on their rivals.
Captain Hans Andersen led the way for Belle Vue with wins in three of his four rides, whilst Lee Richardson top-scored for the Hammers with nine points.
Aces boss Chris Morton said: "It was a relief to run the match in view of the conditions. We kept talking to the riders and decided not to run the last race after Patrick Hougaard won Heat 14 and said the track had become dangerous in his opinion."
