Wednesday June 09, 2010
TICKETS for Event 2 of the FIM PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna Speedway World Cup 2010 (SWC), to be held on Monday 26 July at the Norfolk Arena, King’s Lynn, are now on sale.
Fans who purchase their Event 2 SWC tickets by 30 June 2010 can save as much as £25 if they buy a family ticket or £5 on an adult standing ticket.
The meeting will see Great Britain take on former world champions Australia and Sweden with Finland making up the quartet as they all bid for a place in the SWC Final. The winners will progress directly to the Final at Vojens, Denmark on Saturday July 31, while the second and third placed teams will go forward to the Race-Off at Vojens on Thursday July 29.
With inform Grand Prix rider Chris Harris spearheading the British team and ably supported by a team of motivated and talented individuals, the British team manager, Rob Lyon, is urging fans to get behind the team in the opening round of the competition:
“We'd like to see as many fans at the Norfolk Arena as we can, to really get behind the boys. We put on a really good show at Peterborough at this stage last year and this time around we want to go one stage better and make the Final. Whether that be from the first meeting in King’s Lynn or from the race-off we don’t really mind.
“Last year we had a lot of young riders in the team and this year we have various alternatives that we can look at, a few more riders who are on form. It will probably be a harder decision. We are looking for more progress and the support from thousands of British fans at King’s Lynn would be a real boost for the boys.”
Paul Bellamy, managing director, BSI Speedway, rights holders and promoters of the event said: “We’re delighted this event will be staged at the Norfolk Arena for the first time and I’m sure the fans will welcome the opportunity to support the Brits as well as come to see the world’s best who are not racing on these shores on a regular basis.”
